10 Days and Then Some

I finished my 10-Day Transformation Cleanse 9 days ago and I'm still feeling amazing from it!  During the cleanse, I felt my body changing, didn't feel hungry, and realized I didn't need to rely on sugar and caffeine to get through the day.  I'm a major snacker, so I needed to get myself back and start sticking to an eating schedule and making better choices.  The cleanse is designed to help fight food addictions and it did just that and more!  Since finishing the cleanse on April 30th, I've found that I am able to eat smaller portions because I stop when I'm satisfied.  I'm able to turn down treats and make better choices about when I'm eating.  My plan when I started the cleanse was to do the continuation plan for another 20 days alternating between cleanse days and clean eating.  I decided instead to replace one or two meals a day with a Power Shake, continue to drink the fiber blend and apothecherry nightly, and take the MAP pills before workouts.  I'm still feeling great.  I had part of a donut this morning and started to feel sick.  Bad choice!  I'm excited to continue to use Purium products along with my Young Living essential oils to heal my body from the inside.

Here are some before and after pictures from the 10-Day Transformation Cleanse.  If you'd like more information on how you can get started with this amazing product, leave a comment or visit my Purium site.

Using Oils with Purium

When my first box from Young Living arrived in January 2014 I was excited to begin a journey to an even healthier lifestyle.  Oils have replaced many of my over-the-counter medicines, helped me through a few difficult situations, and simply added to my life.  Now it's time to add oils to another part of my journey!

On Monday, I began the Purium 10-Day Transformation Cleanse.  After gaining back a lot of the weight that I lost when I initially began bootcamp, I realized that I'd been giving myself too many "treats" and now my body craved them again.  So I decided to give Purium a try.  I'd heard so many great things about it from friends who had done it and I didn't see anything that I'd lose.  I found a friend to do it with me for the first time and ordered our kits.  I couldn't wait to start, so I made myself a PowerShake the night the box arrived in the mail.  Then I put the kit away until Sunday night.  After a long weekend of camping and indulgences, I prepared myself for the first day of the cleanse by packing all of the powders and pills I would need for the day, steaming some kabocha to eat as a flex food during the week, and slicing cucumbers to take to work.

I started the day by weighing in at 4:15am, taking a dose of lemon and peppermint essential oil in a vegetable capsule, and taking 3 of the amino pills before I headed out the door to go to bootcamp.  After bootcamp, I took 2 more of the pills on my drive home.  I drank my first shake at 7:30am when I was finished prepping at work and I felt amazing.  I took the next set of pills when the class was out at recess, then drank another shake and ate half of an avocado at a lunch meeting.  After school I took my last dose of pills and ate some cucumber slices while I worked on my substitute plans for the next day.  When I got home I had another shake, then my fiber blend, and finally at bedtime I drank my apothecherry.  Throughout the day I sipped my cold water with lemon, peppermint, and grapefruit essential oils.  When I got tired I sniffed my peppermint oil bottle and felt much better.

Yesterday was Day 3 and it was the worst.  I was in a meeting all afternoon and didn't have a chance to take what I needed to and when I needed to, so I was feeling exhausted by the time I got home.  Then I got emotional and "hangry" before my boyfriend called to see if I'd want to go meet one of his childhood friends for happy hour.  I pulled myself together, swiped my forehead with Deep Relief Roll-On, mixed my shake, and sautéed some kabocha.  Before we left the house I rubbed some Valor essential oil on my feet and pulled myself together.  I drank my shake and snacked on a few cubes of kabocha in the car and felt a thousands times better when we got to the restaurant.  I then enjoyed two hours of time with friends.  They enjoyed their food and drinks and I enjoyed my water on the rocks.  I sniffed my bottle of valor on a bathroom trip after the calamari came out and smelled AMAZING!  But I didn't give in to temptation and was proud of myself at the end of the night.

Today was Day 4 and I felt amazing!  More to come on how I'm mixing Young Living Essential Oils and Purium to live a healthier life.

I began my journey to becoming a better me back in June 2012 when I decided to ditch my exercise routines that were going nowhere and try something new and more challenging.  After a month at Egan's Fit Body Bootcamp in Manoa (with an awesome LivingSocial deal), I was hooked.  I was feeling better physically and emotionally.  I've been going to bootcamp regularly at 5am ever since.  In the first 6 months I was down 20 pounds and 2 dress sizes!  It also helped me to tame tendinitis in my foot that was keeping me from enjoying my other workouts.

Now that I've been improving my life with workouts and changing my eating habits, I'm ready for a new adventure!  After reading blogs about essential oils and talking to friends, I've signed up with Young Living to give essential oils a try.  I'm excited for my Premium Starter kit to arrive in a few days.  I've already picked up a glass bottle with a dropper, vegetable capsules, and carrier oils (almond and coconut) from Whole Foods and Down to Earth so that I'm prepared to start right away.  I've also pinned ideas, information, and blends to a Pinterest board.

My goal for this journey is to use essential oils to help me continue to live a healthier lifestyle and get rid of my needs for over-the-counter medications.
